Chris Clayton - Certified Anatomy Trains Teacher

Certified to teach:

  • Anatomy Trains in Structure and Function
  • Anatomy Trains in Training
  • Structural Essentials (ATSI Part 1)

Chris Clayton lives in Southeast Queensland Australia, where he and his wife Maree operate their Structural Integration and remedial therapy Clinic in the regional City of Toowoomba. Chris is a certified Anatomy Trains Structural Integrator and a movement therapist where he practices structural integration and implements Anatomy Trains in Training concepts as the backbone of his movement therapy strategy.

Chris’ first love was and still is the martial arts, where he teaches for free and strives to be a perpetual student, a journey that has spanned 42 years or more so far. It was in his early years of training, where he saw his martial arts instructor successfully treat fellow students when they presented at class with basic injuries. Chris was immediately profoundly interested in what he saw, when he asked his teacher what he could do to follow the healer’s path, his teacher pointed him to anatomy, Chris has been following that advice ever since.

Chris has been in the coaching/training industry for over 35 years and holds Diplomas in Sport Development, Sport Coaching and Fitness. Since 2007, Chris has taught Sport Coaching and Fitness qualifications for the Australian College of Sport Development and YMCA Brisbane as an industry partner for over a decade before becoming an Anatomy Trains Certified Teacher. Over time, it became ever more apparent, that the best way to improve an athlete or client was to be able improve them where they were most vulnerable. This led Chris to continue his learning and integrate manual therapy into his work, eventually resulting in Chris becoming an ATSI practitioner. Chris has toured with AP Lindberg of Anatomy Trains in Training in Australia and Asia in June/July 2017/18. Recently Chris has also been teaching regularly in Singapore. Like most therapists, Chris just likes to help people feel better and most days he will be found happily working with his clients at his clinic.

Alexia_Langley_Headshot

Alexia Langley - Certified Anatomy Trains Structural Integration Teacher

Certified to teach:

  • Anatomy Trains in Structure & Function

Alexia Langley lives in the Perth Hills in Western Australia, where she runs her own health business which combines both remedial and naturopathic services to her clients.  After spending 15 years in the IT industry, Alexia decided she wanted to do more meaningful work, and so went to study Naturopathy.

As part of her Naturopath course she was introduced to massage, was surprised at how much she enjoyed the work, so after completing her Naturopath qualification continued straight on to study remedial massage.  Inspired by her myofascial release lecturer and wanting to keep learning and seeing more about people’s movement and body patterns (and not just “massage” people), Alexia then jumped straight from her remedial massage qualification in to an Anatomy Trains workshop, realised that it opened up many more questions and possibilities, and went through the whole Structural Integration training immediately following the completion of her remedial massage course.

Under the support and guidance of Julie Hammond, Alexia then went on to assist in Anatomy Trains workshops.  She believes that assisting is not just about learning to be a teacher, but continuing to learn, explore and dive deeper into the world of not just Anatomy Trains, but anatomy, the human body, and connecting it all together.  Assisting has enhanced her understanding, helped her see and feel more in her practice.

Alexia enjoys CrossFit in her spare time and is constantly taking what she learns about movement in the sport, and what she learns within the Anatomy Trains concepts, and puts them together both for her clients and for her to continue to learn more about movement patterns, and loves to use all the information she learns to teach her clients about their own bodies.

She has recognised that she is very much a problem solver, and has loved the change from problem solving machines, to problem solving the complex and exciting world of the human body in a holistic way.
